BOSTON (AP) - A plush elephant pillow that could suffocate a baby, a plastic hammer with the potential to cause head injuries, and a slingshot-like device that shoots balls of slime that could cause eye injuries were singled out Tuesday by a child safety group as among 10 dangerous toys for sale this holiday season. The list issued by Boston-based World Against Toys Causing Harm , or WATCH, includes toys with small pieces that pose a choking hazard and pointy parts that it says could cause puncture wounds.

It was released ahead of the 2016 holiday shopping season, which accounts for almost two-thirds of all U.S. toy sales, according to WATCH. "Due to poor design, manufacturing and marketing practices, there are toys available for purchase today with the potential to lead to serious injury and even death," WATCH said in a statement. The Toy Industry Association , a trade group representing toy makers and sellers, countered that the U.

S. has among the strictest toy-safety standards in the world that must be met before a toy can be marketed in the country. The association said in a statement that "year after year these lists have repeatedly shown to be full of false claims that needlessly frighten parents and caregivers." WATCH says toys on its 44th annual report also have inconsistent and inadequate warnings, cautions and age recommendations. For example, the pillow is targeted for use by children under 3.

But there are no warnings or age recommendations on the product itself even though the Consumer Product Safety Commission has warned that a pillow can block a baby's mouth and cause suffocation, WATCH said.

INDEPENDENCE, Ohio (AP) - LeBron James respected Phil Jackson's unmatched coaching accomplishments. That affection has vanished. "I've got nothing for him," James said Tuesday. James fired back at the 11-time coaching champion and current New York Knicks president for using the word "posse" in a recent interview to describe the NBA megastar's business associates. James said he lost all respect for Jackson and his comments underline a larger societal issue for young African-Americans trying to succeed in business.

LeBron James says he has lost respect for Phil Jackson after the famed NBA coach used the word posse to describe the Cleveland stars business partners.

James responded harshly on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, to Jacksons use of the term in a recent interview. (AP Photo/File) In the interview, Jackson, 71, said James has always demanded preferential treatment and called his departure from Miami as a free agent a "slap in the face" to the Heat organization. Jackson recalled a time when James asked for the team to stay over in Cleveland while on a road trip, a request that put coach Erik Spoelstra in a bind.

By Alan Baldwin LONDON, Nov 15 (Reuters) - Ron Dennis has been forced out as chairman and chief executive of McLaren, bringing to an end the Briton's 35-year involvement with one of Formula One's top teams. The 69-year-old relinquished his duties on Tuesday following a decision by the majority shareholders to place him on 'gardening leave' until his contract expires in mid-January. McLaren said in a statement that Dennis, who has a 25 percent stake in the McLaren Technology Group, would remain a shareholder and director.

It added that McLaren "will be run on an interim basis by an Executive Committee comprising the Group's majority shareholders" until a new CEO was appointed. American marketing executive Zak Brown, former head of CSM Sport&Entertainment, who has brought numerous top sponsors into Formula One, has already been linked to the job in paddock speculation. He was not immediately available for comment. Dennis said he was disappointed the shareholders had "forced through this decision.

.. despite the strong warnings from the rest of the management team about the potential consequences of their actions on the business. "The grounds they have stated are entirely spurious...," he added. DENNIS OUT A Sky News report last week said that Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat, which owns 50 percent, and Saudi-born businessman Mansour Ojjeh, the CEO of TAG who holds the remaining 25 percent, wanted Dennis out.
